You should consider which renovations or upgrades can add value to your home improvements if you’ve purchased a fixer-upper or are planning to sell in the near future. In terms of return on investment, not all home projects are the same. You can determine what upgrades are cost-effective and which will increase the value of the property by consulting a Real Estate Professional. A report by Remodeling magazine lists upgrades in terms of their return on investment. There were four exterior projects among the top six. A minor kitchen remodels – a relatively modest indoor project among those covered – rivaled the return of exterior projects.
Window, siding, and roof contractors:
We strive to help our clients make their homes look their best. Our family-owned and operated business have been in business for 39 years! The decades of experience we have in roofing and home improvement can be put to work for you. The quality of their roofing and home improvement costs can fluctuate after sudden changes in management at other companies. The owner, however, has been with our company for over 30 years! Client dedication has helped us build a reputation as a reliable company in West Michigan. The fact that we have an A+ rating with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) is further evidence of our professionalism and honesty. The BBB only awards A+ ratings to businesses that adhere to the ethical standards established by the organization, which include responding to customer concerns in a timely and considerate manner. No matter what size your home improvement project may be, we can handle it, and our rates are competitive.
Incorporation and home improvements, LLC:
Companies that offer online incorporation and limited liability company formation say the process is easy, fast, and cheap. IncorporateTime.com, MyCorporation.com, and LegalZoom.com are examples. Storefront and virtual paralegal services such as We the People and those found on Craigslist also offer similar services. According to their websites and radio and TV advertisements, forming a corporation or LLC is as simple as filling out an online questionnaire and paying a fee of $100-150 for the completion of paperwork and the filing of the documents with the secretary of state (plus state filing fees). There are advantages and disadvantages of these services overall; for specific reviews of a particular provider, you should look elsewhere (and preferably to those with direct experience using the service, as well as those with at least a year of business operations).
Home improvements without legal advice:
Many document preparation services states in their fine print that they are not law firms, cannot provide legal advice, and recommend you consult an attorney for legal advice. Here is an example is taken from one website. We do not refer you to any attorneys. Consult a lawyer to determine the applicable law in your situation. And from another perspective. There is no substitute for legal counsel or a law firm in using our document preparation service. Only licensed attorneys can practice law and provide legal advice. These firms are protecting themselves by making it clear that they do not provide legal advice. They prepare whatever forms or filings you instruct them to. Therefore, the old adage of a computer programmer applies garbage in, garbage out. When you really need a California S corporation, they will form a Nevada LLC. Although they are likely to produce a technically sufficient LLC, it will not satisfy your actual legal needs. Furthermore, if you do not elect S-corporation status and end up paying higher taxes as a C-corporation, it is not their fault. Before coming to them, make sure you have consulted a lawyer and/or a tax accountant about what you need.
Related Legal Issues:
In addition to forming the entity you have asked them to, attorneys will take the time to assess your overall business plan and goals, and ensure the legal structure is tailored to your specific circumstances rather than assuming you are exactly the same as the next guy and his business. As a minimum, they will also point out, and suggest solutions for, legal issues that arise tangentially from forming an LLC or corporation. Most customers of incorporation services are blissfully unaware of issues such as securities laws compliance, promissory notes, trademark and service mark issues, and employee and independent contractor laws. Tax issues are also inherent in incorporating, so I always recommend consulting with an accountant or CPA before and after incorporating. Agreements typical of new corporations or existing companies growing and deciding to incorporate include employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, supplier agreements, web site terms of use and privacy policies, and shareholder buy-sell agreements. These should all be customized to your needs, not filled out blank forms, just as corporate bylaws and LLC operating agreements should be customized.
